First floor apartment in a cozy antique house group situated among the hills with breathtaking sea and lake views. Shared pool and walking distance to a restaurant. WIFI.
Borghino 3 is a part of a cozy antique house group situated on the hills between Lucca and the Versilia coast with breathtaking views of the sea and the lake Lago di Massaciuccoli, one of WWF's protected areas. The lake is known for being the place where the composer Giacomo Puccini wrote some of his most famous works. It is told that Puccini loved to get up here to enjoy the view and to be inspired by the sound of the church bells. If you close your eyes and listen, you can recognize the tones from the last act of the opera Tosca. A small village with grocery and restaurant is just 500 meters away from the house and can be reached on foot while enjoying the view.
The owner of this beautiful place lives in Rome and has created her own little vacation paradise here, an ancient villa and three charming buildings on the same property that are rented out. All three have air conditioning, internet wifi and access to the pool. Another apartment on the property is occupied by the caretaker and his wife. The houses are built as a small fortress village but each one is shielded with a private entrance and a private furnished outdoor area.
The 4 x 7 meter swimming pool with a depth of 1.50 mt is placed in a fantastic position. It is shared with the guests of the other apartments. The pool is lined with sun loungers and other equipment. Children in or around the pool must be under adult supervision at all times.
The apartment Borghino 3 is situated on the first floor with a separate entrance through an outdoor staircase and it consists of:
Living/dining room with a fire place and sofa bed. From here there is access to a small balcony where you can enjoy a beautiful view over the lake and the sea. A small kitchenette (a small fridge, two hot plates, micro, American coffee machine) Going through a fresco painted door dating back to 1500 you reach the double bedroom and a bathroom with shower.
The decor is light and a mix of antique and modern furniture that is in nice contrast to the exposed wooden beams and stone floors. There are also some very special portraits on the walls of the women in the family that have also given names to the apartments. The portraits are colourful and made in Andy Warhol style.
In front of the house, just at the end of the staircase, there is a private furnished outdoor area.
The last 50 mt up to the house is gravel road in good conditions.
